And now, back to our regularly scheduled program, already in progress: Every September, for the twelfth year running, a challenge has been issued to the artists of Central Pennsylvania by the downtown gallery, Lebanon Picture Frame and Fine Art Gallery. Artists, professional and amateur alike, are called to submit works of art, unrestricted in medium, form, technique, or subject matter. The only catch: the works must be small. Twelve Inches and Under, to be precise.
Even though the sky may be the limit for artistic expressions, this simple challenge might prove to be more insurmountable than one would suspect. How can an artist realize their creative vision within this dimensional constraint? How does one write a novel in the space of a haiku? The response to the call by the local artistic community has been overwhelming, with a tsunami of creative submissions making landfall at the gallery in the last few weeks.
For the past decade, Lebanon Picture Frame & Fine Art Gallery has been bringing together over 50 participating local artists for one colossal small works group show. Be prepared to be delighted by the stellar entries at the Artists’ Reception on First Friday, September 3rd, from 5 to 8PM. The exhibition will remain on view for the rest of the month.
Lebanon Picture Frame & Fine Art Gallery has been serving the regional artistic community since 1999. Aside from professional and quality archival custom framing, its gallery regularly features exhibitions of local artists, as well as unique handcrafted gift items such as jewelry, paintings, ceramics, sculptures and more.
